Setting up automation rules
Automation rules let you control which reviews get automatic responses and which are held for manual review. This guide explains how to create and manage rules.
What are automation rules?
An automation rule is a condition-based filter that determines what Zorexa does when a new review arrives. You can combine multiple conditions — star rating, review keywords, review length — to create precise rules for any scenario.
Creating your first rule
- 1
Go to Automation in the left sidebar.
- 2
Click Create Rule.
- 3
Give the rule a name (e.g., "Auto-publish positive reviews").
- 4
Set your conditions using the dropdown menus.
- 5
Choose the action: Auto-publish, Save as Draft, or Flag for Review.
- 6
Click Save.

Available rule conditions
You can filter reviews by any combination of the following:
- 1
Star rating — e.g., 4 stars or above, exactly 1 star.
- 2
Review length — e.g., under 50 words (quick mentions), over 200 words (detailed feedback).
- 3
Contains keyword — e.g., flag any review containing "refund", "broken", or "unsafe".
- 4
Does not contain keyword — e.g., exclude reviews mentioning specific team members from auto-publish.
Keywords are not case-sensitive. "Refund" and "refund" are treated the same.
Rule priority
If multiple rules match the same review, the rule highest in the list takes priority. Drag and drop rules to reorder them. A common setup: put "Flag sensitive keywords" at the top so it catches reviews before any auto-publish rule applies.
Recommended rule setup for most businesses
- 1
Rule 1 (highest priority): Flag any review containing complaint keywords ("broken", "dangerous", "refund", "manager").
- 2
Rule 2: Auto-publish all reviews rated 4 stars or above with no flagged keywords.
- 3
Rule 3 (catch-all): Save all remaining reviews as drafts for manual review.
Zorexa will always notify you when a review is flagged — you'll receive an email notification and see it highlighted in your Inbox.
